Art Share🎨@lemmy.world•It is somewhat discouraging to learn ya don't have the patience anymore to paint as good as you used to, but having fun is still the important part of it (I missed painting so bad)English
5·3 days agoDon’t get discouraged, it’s looking pretty cool. :DI want to see it finished!

2·5 days agoThe audio cue for the parry is what made a world of difference for me, since I tend to struggle with the delays. Such a nice feature, I got the timing down pretty fast and everything flowed beautifully, I actually surprised myself; but it’s mostly good game design. And I co sign that Laxasia phase 1 is very fun to bully, but girl takes revenge! I think phase 2 will never stop making me sweat.
Yeah,
butdifficulty still goes upthough.
NG+ for a game you can’t win.

3·5 days agoIn Lies of P. parry everything, all the time. this weapon made me feel like a parry god hahaha, so much so I went and spun a parry character on Elden Ring, but I’ve been humbled again.

I know about this tool, but haven’t used it myself

Glaze is a system designed to protect human artists by disrupting style mimicry. At a high level, Glaze works by understanding the AI models that are training on human art, and using machine learning algorithms, computing a set of minimal changes to artworks, such that it appears unchanged to human eyes, but appears to AI models like a dramatically different art style.
Yup, totally valid. No need to expose yourself to that. I powered through it 'cause Miura’s art in the series is absolutely incredible and it’s been a cornerstone reference un my own work since then.
I’m with you that timelines are confusing! At least berserk and the witcher started being published arroud the same time and the influences are there of course, at least from what you get to see in the witcher games. Which inspired which, I requires further investigation :P . I’ve been also meaning to read the witcher novels for a while but I haven’t gotten arroud to it.
As for the reference list, it was mostly visual design stuff, thematically theres also so much! I don’t know if I’m eloquent enough to put it into writing :P To do a solid post I’d probably have to re-read the whole thing, but honestly I kind of have the itch to do it. It has been so long I read some parts I have forgotten some details. But, I’ll check out Claymore first and also will compile what I find there.
Unfortunately theres quite a few instances of sexual violence in it, most super graphic. Some are also unnecesarry for the plot imo , but some are central to main character and the central conflict) :(. The first time I picked up the manga I stopped reading it because of that. But maybe you can skip it, if you look up ahead which chapters have ocurrences of it.

1·7 days agoVery interesting! Thanks :)
I recently got caught up with Berserk and also re read some arcs, and started compiling a file of the things that got directly referenced by fromsoft to do a post about it here XD (it’s a lot!/and also probably out there on the internet already) back when I started reading I hadn’t played any of the games.
One of the recent chapters is named “shadows die twice” so it’s nice to see the aknowledgement and little tribute made to the studio in return. Granted it was under Mori after Miura died, but still.
I’ll second that it’s great and definitely worth the time investment.
I’m not huge into manga so I wasn’t aware of Claymore, but I’ll check it out! thanks for the rec!

2·8 days agoCool that you are getting back to it! practice quick gesture drawing, a lot. Don’t concern yourself with proportions and details, just the flow of the pose and the placement of the head, spine, torax, hips and extremities.
