That’s not what being a non profit means… they are allowed to make a “profit,” and pay for their liabilities. They just must reinvest them back into the business.
lol wow talk about a statement that lets everyone else know not to take anything else you’re about to say seriously.
You say “6 figures” as if that’s anything BUT the average for a corporate executive… actually kind of fucking low.
The median total compensation for S&P 500 CEOs was $17.1 million in 2024, marking a 9.7% increase from the previous year.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your favourite story from history that is actually false or exaggerated?
7·17 days agoIt’s sounds like you just made up stereotypes to come up with myths…
Nobody said that about WWI, that’s a claim about WWII. And nobody claimed American was the first democracy either, as it was founded in Ancient Greek city states…

News@lemmy.world•Pennies Are Trash Now | The government has no plan for America’s 300 billion pennies.
1·23 days agoThis isn’t true. There’s transportation and refining costs. Steel being so cheap and considering the opportunity cost it absolutely could be cheaper to just use new steel and sell/trash/give away old shit.
Also depending on the price could have actually been less steel than they were worth, so selling/smelting would actually give out more cash than scrap value.
I mean there’s a slight order of magnitude of difference between the attacks. Particularly 3000 vs what 100ish deaths? And 4x as many “attacks”
And I knew immediately what you were talking about this isn’t the gotcha you think it is…

1·24 days agoThis isn’t entirely true… extermination of apex predators has brought environmental damage. Sustainable hunting is actually a net positive, brings additional revenue to the area and helps population dynamics. Specifically things like how they hunt African Lions today. The pick sick or old animals, it has high barrier to entry so it’s not something you do often and most of the money goes back into conservation and local developing economies.

Yeah his entire existence is an attack on hominids
