No, no, Trump has stolen the Times! The lefties don’t give a fuck about it, though.

Some small towns actually lose their police forces from this kind of incident. The first payout comes from insurance, and then the provider drops the town, so the cop shop closes doors.
Doesn’t work on large towns, sad to say.

I have my own mail server and it has never been blocked … If it were, clearly the garbage would have taken itself out. :-)

I live in Japan, a white person, and some people will assume that I don’t speak Japanese. The reality is that there are a great number of international tourists and there aren’t that many non-Asian foreign residents, so sometimes people make bad assumptions.
Usually it doesn’t much matter, isolated incidents meh, but occasionally when it happens on a regular basis over a few days or weeks, it can definitely get irritating as fuck.
But look, if my response to “Konnichiwa” were delayed by five seconds, I would definitely expect them to say “Hello”. They tried Japanese, it failed, so they moved on… And if that’s what you’re experiencing, I sympathize, because probably it is going to stay that way for the rest of your life.

That’s not quite true. The police will have to explain why he was arrested. The prosecutors have to explain why they kept him locked up for more than a few hours, because they had to make a showing of probable cause before a magistrate to keep him there.

The short reply to that is that it’s turtles all the way down. The slightly longer reply is that you’re making assumptions about how energy works in a system that you’re recognizing is not the same as our system. The even longer to reply is that if you’re hypothesizing a system then neither looks nor functions, anything like our current system, then our current language simply cannot describe it properly and therefore we have no good way to speculate about how it would or wouldn’t work.

Certainly, the article alone doesn’t convince us that the authors understand anything about the issue. You can’t have a mathematical proof of something that’s outside the scope of the system that the math is describing.

… Because that is what we do, that is what humans do every single day of our lives. That is why a judge might decide that it is fair use.

No. Each work is its own violation. The RIAA showed us that decades ago.
But if he wins, then every other similar author has a blueprint of how to get some cash… And if the defendants keep doing the action, everyone can file suits again, right?

And again the title buries the lede. This is not about his opinion alone. Nobody cares about his opinion alone. The point is that he is reversing course on the Trump Stance. Either they were lying then or they are lying now, or both, and that is the real story.

Right but it’s the degree, my friend. Life works like that a lot.

OpenStreetMap for the win, my peoples.
There’s all kinds of drugs out there, my friend. Some are solids, others are liquids.

Even then they wouldn’t go. The benefits of living in NYC are far more than the value of your real estate.

Some rich dude said this yesterday on Instagram, but the whole point of being rich is that you don’t have to worry about those taxes. You can live anywhere you want, you have the money for it. Because you’re rich.
It’s poor people who get driven out by cost, not those rich bastards.
I think it defies common sense, but it sounds good if you only think about it for 10 seconds.
Your position seems to be such that many people, like me and probably some of the other commenters, should have to work until the day we die. We have been working full-time our entire adult lives. We’re somewhat educated. We’re doing the best we can, but there’s no way we could possibly afford to purchase property. So when we get old and gray, when we’re 85 years old, maybe you’re going to see us working the door at Walmart because there’s no other option under your system. And who’s benefiting from us paying rent our entire lives? Landlords, but more specifically very rich people who invest in real estate. In other words, they are stealing our retirement to get richer when they’re already filthy rich.
And that’s not the kind of society I will ever support because I don’t think the filthy rich bastards deserve any more money than they already have. They only get it by taking it from us and we need it more.
Class warfare.
People love to say that we have to have landlords because otherwise no one could rent. Great! So then, let’s have not-for-profit landlords or public housing.
Also, here is a basic refresher on “what something is worth”. If you’re drowning and someone offers to sell you a life vest for your life savings, then you might pay it so that you don’t die. Immediately after that you would pass laws to prevent them from ever doing that kind of horrible shit again. At least, you would do that if you had an ounce of empathy… Do you?

No shit Sherlock. The death camps tend to upset people who get targeted by the secret police.
The question is why the broad community didn’t see this coming, to such a large degree.

The donors are not actually infuriated. They knew that the site was run by scum … All of Kirk’s retrospective supporters are big fat liars … but still the donors are hoping to get some sympathy, hoping you’ll forget that they don’t have an ounce of empathy.
Damn right they do. This IPO would burst the bubble overnight. Great for day traders, bad for others.
