Sure, but I feel like the “TAS” part needs a qualifier. Normally a TAS is the logical extreme of a human run. It’s like a player piano, it’s a script that could in principle be played on the real game.

But a real life runner versus a minecraft “TAS” wouldn’t be in the same ballpark, because the real life runner can’t magically skip all the load times. It just feels disingenuous to call this a TAS, unless there’s a way to real-time verify it.

code editors might have the features you want, and its easy to repurpose a code editor into a notes app.

sync a folder between your devices (syncthing is great for this) and put markdown text files in it. I like to call this folder “Memo” since its like writing letters to myself.

edit the markdown using VS Code (desktop) or Carbon (android). I haven’t tested whether Carbon can do this, but I know in VS Code, you can reorder a list with keyboard shortcuts.

click anywhere on a line of text, then hold Alt and press Up arrow, and the text will swap places with the line above it.

edit: Syncthing and Carbon are open source. VS Code has some proprietary code added by Microsoft, but none of it is relevant to your use case, so you may prefer the fork called Codium.

I’ll add a few of my own:

• PlateUp! It’s like roguelike Overcooked. Upgrade and build your own kitchen as the customers come faster and faster, try to survive long enough to earn five stars.

• LevelHead, its like indie Mario Maker. Play as a delivery robot and escort the package to the flag. The package works like the companion cube! You can throw it to deflect bullets, or climb on it, or drop it on a button, etc. Level editor looks good too!

• Shütshimi, its like Wario Ware except it’s a shmup. Swim through waves of enemy fish, get a powerup after each wave, but think fast, you only get five seconds to read what the items do.

yeah! it used to be a little bit fiddly with installing custom drivers, but that’s all built into steam now. or if you’re not using steam, look up joycond (linux) or betterjoy (windows).

is pummel party good? i grew up on Mario Party 3. also, would it be joycon friendly, or should I get out the full-size controllers?

what I recommend, if you have the time and energy, is to find another self-hoster you trust and be “backup buddies” with them. set up remote file storage on both your networks and send your backups to the other person’s server.

if you can’t find another self-hoster, then find a friend or family member you trust and mail them your backups on a physical disk.
