With regards to finding messages in a sea of logs, I highly recommend https://lnav.org/. Load any number of log files and use w/W to cycle through warnings but it can do so much more.

How can I use a rotary encoder?

Searching for LIR2450 lead me to coin battery holder with on/off switch. I haven’t seen a build with coin battery holders like this yet. I’m more curious now.

I do enjoy LEDs because I like to color-code my layers but I don’t need a display. If the battery fits under the MCU then this sounds ideal but if I have to charge it every 2 hours because it has to be small then it won’t be worth it for me.
