        As a Mexican I can say that cinco de mayo is just a marketing holiday similar to saint Patrick’s day and capitalism has ruined any significance behind the actual batalla de Puebla… ooooh, did you just say you have a colorful donkey tequila on sale? Count me in 🤠

          Ha St Patrick’s Day isn’t a marketing holiday. It’s a huge day in Ireland, where up to a million people go to see the parade in town.

      All the Mexican American places in my area is taking full advantage with deals. Even the Irish pub near by is doing a shamrock taco. It’s big here.

      May 5 is Cinco de mayo, a Mexican holiday that has been adopted in many places, like America. During that holiday, Mexican restaurants are filled with food specials.

      So OP was just living life and then suddenly was bombarded with tequila shots and taco deals from hungry college kids.
