Many may feel they have no genuine choice but to support a candidate they don’t fully believe in, fearing that backing the other choice will cost them socially or professionally. The result is an erosion of one of democracy’s core values: the free and open right to choose.

Don’t stress out too much, what you’re feeling is normal. If you need support, ask any Democrat who voted in 1964, 1968, 1972, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2016 …
This all happens because there are no penalties for spreading blatant lies in election campaigns. And there are no penalties for not fulfilling election promises. If each promise was given as a personal guarantee of the candidate’s assets and property - the situation would be quite different.
