I wrote literally everywhere so it talks in first person, describing my own point of view, not act as a GM, yet it completely ignores it.

Do i say it wrong? Do i need to do it somehow differently? I tried writing my own text starting with “I say” or “I do” or whatever so it continues from my POV, but then during random moment it forgets about it. Is it strictly pre-defined by a dev? Its very sad in this case, describing it from my POV feels much more immersive :(

And yeah, i also wrote it in overview window. Didnt help. Rip.

If the AI said “I do this” it would sound like the game is doing something, not you, not your character I would expect such a game to tell you what “you” do or what happens to “you.” So, yeah, it could be built in to the game?

Investigating further, it seems to start the response with “You” and the AI continues from there. So yes, it’s part of the game. Probably because it’s mimicking similar games, which all usually speak about what “you” do.

If you really wanted you could edit the generator, save it as a copy, and change that so the startWith begins with “I”. Try changing it on line 403.

Thanks for the answer! I tried changing the line 403, also “tips” and tasks. I changed it from 2nd perspective to 1st person but it changed nothing, i pressed “save”, saved it, updated the page and nothing changed :(

I found a workaround to add a shortcut button that would start all paragraphs with “I” or “I say” etc, but its still a bit annoying that you need to stop the generating after typing your action, so maybe you have the idea how to fix it? Do i need to apply the new settings somehow differently?

Also change line 27, which instructs the AI to write in 2nd person. Change it to 1st person. That seems to work better.

And you can use the custom action textbox to remind it to be in 1st person if you need to.

Note, this may not work so well on existing stories. Because it’s got a load of story it’s already looking at that’s written in 2nd person with “You” everywhere. So test on a fresh game maybe?

It didnt work when i tried it first, but after re-launching the browser(or maybe after forcing the story to proceed with first person perspective, as you said), it finally works consistently. Thank you very much!
