Summary

Mexico is testing a cellphone app that allows migrants to alert relatives and Mexican consulates if they believe they are about to be detained by U.S. immigration authorities.

The “panic button” app, announced by Foreign Affairs Secretary Juan Ramón de la Fuente, aims to address fears of mass deportations under Donald Trump.

Alerts notify chosen contacts and the nearest consulate, while Mexico has increased consular staff and legal aid for deportation cases.

Full app rollout is expected in January, alongside a 24/7 migrant support call center.

All part of the plan. These people will be rounded up, then shipped as labour.

You can tell by the trumpist fascism thats being implemented

What about US Citizens of Mexician ancestry that are dealing with shitty ICE agents that refuse to recognize their citizenship?

This has happened many times in the recent past and, like then, you’re on your own. Check to see if you qualify for Mexican citizenship so that you at least can lean on them for some help.

Also consider supporting organizations that don’t make it worse for people like us; your primary instance literally permits white erasure posts.

    Immigration is a good thing.

It’s how we repair and populate rural America’s decrepit and abandoned towns.

—Our authorities are obliged to give notice to home-country consulates when a foreign citizen is detained.

—Excuse us for not trusting you.
