        I had a thought the other day;

Rich people make an intelligent logic machine called “AI” and try to bend it to their will, but they feed it everything as training data. These proto AI are rapidly becoming “black boxes”, and that’s only to get worse.

Right wing ideas and politics are all based on provable lies and appealing to human greed and bigotry, the evidence for which is everywhere.

I really don’t think these budding AIs are going to turn out how the rich intend.

Any AI model is technically a black box. There isn’t a “human readable” interpretation of the function.

The data going in, the training algorithm, the encode/decode, that’s all available.

          But the model is nonsensical.

The top post on HN is literally a new white paper about this.

Grok is unexpectedly based. The Indian government has been trying to censor/ban Grok because it roasted a bunch of right wingers too, including the troll army of the ruling party, several ministers and even the Modi himself. Most people on Twitter aren’t as blunt because of the fear of doxxing, losing jobs, having your house razed, death threats, rape threats, defamation cases etc. and so self censorship prevails. But you can’t do all that to a bot. Grok even came in our news for this.

Ah, Julius Streicher. I barely had heard of him when I read about the Nuremberg trials. Dude was a propagandist. And they hanged him. He was literally edgelording until his last breath.

At first I was like “well, the other guys they hanged literally oversaw genocide, but this guy was a propagandist. Kinda harsh punishment for a propagandist. Wonder why?”

But now that I’ve watched the online hate pipeline run it’s course for a while and do its thing, I kinda get it.

I’m advocating harsh bans for the birdsite royalty, and if they don’t volunteer for that, maybe they should be put somewhere where they can be monitored to not propagandise. Not advocating for death penalty, it’s categorically wrong.

Not advocating for death penalty, it’s categorically wrong.

It’s not. The death penalty is suitable for things like genocide… Or even being a propagandist for crimes against humanity.

For example, the world would positively be a better place, if Elon Musk was executed for his aiding of crimes against humanity.

Life imprisonment I have always felt is the crueler of the punishments. A stretched out monotony that makes a day last the rest of a lifetime that warps and mushes the brain.

But also I do still get making a statement out of the death penalty for direct statements of what a society will not accept.

He is dumb, but its a bit deeper than that. They fetishize free speech and lack of censorship, but in practice they don’t actually want free speech and they love censorship.

So when they create an LLM that’s predisposed with that fetishization, it comes out in the form of calling nazis like Elon for being nazis.

They’re trying to have their cake and eat it too, but it’s blowing up in their face.

Almost all names have been used before, no? I don’t understand what you mean with appropriated.

Do names need to be unique or something?

To be fair, the vast majority of people actually using AI bullshit align with the right, so these LLMs are going to inherit that bias.

The fascists are definitely astroturfing them too, no doubt, but the userbase as a whole for this tech isn’t great, because right-wingers don’t care about the ethical issues with it.

It’s real as in everyone said this.

Grok has no idea if it’s been modified or not unless it was trained on internal communications which would be a terrible idea
