I live in a small town and even I had to wait about 15 minutes in line.

Last election, I was the only one there outside of the volunteers and was in and out in about a minute. I want to think this is a good thing and we’ll see massive voter turnout

If anyone is planning on voting over the next couple days, I would recommend going at night if you want to avoid lines.

Yeah, mine was about 45 minutes.

Same as you, I was annoyed but at the same time I felt happy that a lot of people were voting.

I was in line for an hour and a half yesterday in Victoria. And the line was just as long when I left! I went to advanced voting hoping I would be in and out lol. It was great to see so many people out voting though!

I was lucky to get in and out but I’m in a small town and went early. Still glad to see people voting. Please fucking vote!

If only we had this same motivation during the Ontario provincial election 2 months ago. We barely cracked 45% turnout

I waited an hour in line on Friday to cast my ballot.

During the provincial election, I didn’t wait even a second. In fact, it looked like some of the workers there hadn’t had any work to do for a while and were bored out of their minds.

While I won’t say that this was the reason why we got a selfish and corrupt moron a majority government (my district elected Lib), the fact that people were so unaware of what’s going on in the Provincial government was depressing.

Yet those same people were screeching about how Trudeau was making healthcare worse and that the childcare deal “was a waste of money”. Mother fuckers your province MANAGES THAT SHIT

All told, I was in line for about 90(!) minutes yesterday. That was at least partly the luck of the draw, though - my polling place had two polling stations open, and the other one had a line the fraction of the length of mine.

My riding has no chance according to the polls but I walked on over anyway to give it my best shot. Nice to hear from the staff there how busy it had been in the morning.

This is the best thing I’ve read today. I’m so glad you went anyway. Poll prediction sites don’t predict upsets and voting can absolutely change things.
