      In other other news: The planet is burning alive and pushing blindly glorified, inefficient and power hungry word calculators won’t necessarily make that better.

    Presumably because the “AI” that these people are working on is different from what’s being shoved down our throat by aibros.

    Stuff like folding proteins or whatever it is they do all day.

    “AI experts” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. “The AI experts surveyed are those who were authors or presenters at an AI-related conference in 2023 or 2024 and live in the U.S.”. So basically people who are part of the snake oil business.

    What an absurdly misleading and generally useless poll.

    No shit!!! 🤣

    I work in the AI field (f.k.a. Tech) and let me tell you: the only ones saying it will have a positive effect on the U.S. are the executives and their lickspittles.

    AI may have a positive effect in Europe. They have rules and stuff there.
