Dementia: The spirit of Biden lives on at the White House
The actual title of this article is: Trump’s mental decline is undeniable — so what now?
Your editorialised headline, @cm0002@lemmy.world, is much less engaging. If you want to give a different headline than the actual one, maybe make it: Dementia: The spirit of Biden lives on at the White House. As it stands, your title makes it seem like the article is going to be about some plucky Biden term bureaucrats are putting up the “good fight”, which I’m not sure anybody would actually believe. I almost didn’t click on your post because I found it a stupid premise. Imagine my surprise when it was actually about the clear signs of dementia Trump is putting out.
Thanks, it was a crosspost and didn’t realize it was editorialized, updated
It’s a great point that even though Biden showed some of the same signs, he had competent people in his cabinet to mitigate the effects, which is something that Trump doesn’t have since he stupidly stacked his cabinet with sycophants. Biden also seemed like he was a reasonable person who would take advice from people in his cabinet (maybe not so much about stepping aside in time though). Trump is not a reasonable person and makes decisions based on his gut, which means we’re in a terrible situation if he does have dementia.
Confabulation is sometimes called “honest lying,” because the person doing it genuinely believes what he’s saying, even if it is obviously and patently false.
We don’t need a president who confabulates. We have technology for that now.

Have you listened to what he says when he talks?

I liked when he talked about not being able to connect copper pipes to glass pipes, as a guy who connects kinds of pipes for a living he really won me over with how much sense he makes!
Indeed, his description of the giant faucet in British Columbia that the Canadians turn the handle of to cut off water to the West Coast was evocative, while Biden only talked about things that actually exist.
