I started a quick and easy supercharger install on my truck 2 years ago and now I have to pay a tow truck to move it to our new house because it was neither quick or easy. I feel your pain.
It’s never quick nor easy hahahaha
Thankfully I have 4 other vehicles that are still fully-functional, including my other Honda
I need a garage to get myself into this kinda trouble.
I moved here less than four years ago with 1 car. I now have 5 vehicles. Family keeps giving them to me… 😐️
My biggest problem with attempting a bottom-end rebuild with my older bike (1991 RM250) is getting parts! Certain ones are discontinued and others are in some other countries.
I feel you. This is a 1980 Honda XR500. eBay has taken lots of my money for this bike already 🫤
Luckily it ran just fine before I ripped it apart. The big 23" front wheel is cracked, so I had to buy another one ($150 on eBay) because nobody was willing to fix it. Honestly I don’t blame them. I also pulled the triple tree the other night, and all the ball bearings just…fell out. Didn’t think to check if they had a cage or not haha. Got a set of tapered roller bearings on the way to replace them though, so it’s probably fine.
Looks like it’s going well, bikes complete in the first place as well. if it was me i’d have gotten sidetracked at the 23" tyre and made it into a supermoto and then never finshed it.
I didn’t like the 23" at first, but it grew on me. It’s such an oddball look that I just couldn’t let it go (kinda similar rake to a frisco-style bobber); added to the fact that Bridgestone still makes the tire (yes, singular) for this bike.
I’ll be picking up multiple of those tires as I find them and keep them stored where they won’t rot, because who knows how long Bridgestone will keep making them.
I did not know they did still make them!
Yep, the Trail Wing TW9 in 3.00-23 size. And it’s even DOT certified.
