Found this player in a closet and decided to test it.
As some buttons weren’t working, tried opening it, and then taking a photo of the model to ask a technician.
It came out surprisingly aesthetic, me thinks.

Back in the PS2 days, a trick for playing games from a different region was to boot off a special disc and then change discs without ejecting the tray (by opening the unit up). Ejecting the tray would reset its recognition of whether the disc in the tray was OK to play, but the unit was not designed for the possibility of the disc changing while the tray was closed.
