Hey, just a 4 hr and 30 minute commute one way on a bicycle!
Just go to bed at 7 pm, get up at at 2 am, and end up with calves that can crack walnuts!
E-bikes can go 20 mph with low effort so all you have to do is move within 10 miles of work and then you won’t have your stupidly long driving commute anymore where you spend a fortune on vehicle maintenance, gas, and time.
Ah, then my significant other will have to make the 4 hour commute if I move within 10 miles!
Should probably just break up then and then each of Yall can bike to work. Problem solved
But it’s 22:46 over here 😰
Gotta go anyways I guess!
Just uh, make up for the lost sleep tomorrow?
walking and biking are things that have so many levels of benefit its crazy it is not the norm. As much as europe gets high praise im sometimes amazed by things like dublin not having a metro.
My commute is 55 minutes by car, unfortunately it would just take too long on a bike
You’d probably be in fantastic shape though!
I already do physical labour all day, I think I’d be emotianally wrecked if I had to labour for hours to get to work too hah
Yeah, jokes aside if you wanted to do micromobility you’d probably be better off with some sort of motorcycle or if public transit is available, maybe a folding bike/skateboard/scooter for the last mile? A lot of people don’t have the option of public transit either because they straight up don’t have it or the schedule is totally useless when it comes to getting to work on time.
I’m in the unfortunate position where both the schedule, nature of my work and amount of gear I need to transport is such tha public transit, a bicycle or even a motorbike is a no-go.
Just make your domestiques carry all that stuff!
Someone cycling with a reciprocating saw from worksite to worksite, now that’s dedication
It can be surprising how much shit you can haul on a bike sometimes, especially cargo bikes.
My friends, why are you even bothering to post here if your response is “I have to drive my car a million miles always?” If your work commute is a million miles, that sucks already for you, I’m sure. But, really, what are you hoping to add here??
Replacing ANY car trip with a bike trip can be pretty fun and rewarding, if that’s safe for you in your community. Doesn’t have to be a work trip if that doesn’t work for you.
Part of my commute is in a busy area with a lot of traffic and so I sometimes keep up with traffic or pass them over the course of multiple lights and I can see how frustrated it makes them.
I do wish that frustration was channeled to the other cars on the road instead of the bike though… A few people have told me that it doesn’t seem fair and I shouldn’t get to cut in line. Yeah, okay, then how about cars can’t pass bikes too then?
