Please note that NSFW/NSFL videos must be labeled as such or they will be deleted

Edit: also keep in mind that initial information in these situations can often be inaccurate. Trusted outlets have conflicting reports about whether a suspect has been detained.

Edit 2: the campus has officially stated they release the initial subject. Donald Trump has stated Charlie Kirk is dead.

This is just my perspective, and I never wish harm or suffering on another living being, but if what/who you are and advocate for causes these things and you’re too stupid or bribed to see it and continue being you… Then, for the greater good, good riddance

Don’t get me wrong, he got what he advocated for, I’m certainly not crying or really feeling anything about his death but huh, I guess dude FAFO’ed. I just don’t find the “good guy with a gun” comment appropriate here that’s all even if a small sliver of me goes “yeah, kinda, yeah” because more than likely that guy is very much not a good guy, probably very mentally ill.

          Just my thoughts.

From the bits I saw of the alleged shooter getting arrested, to me it looks like the guy was planning on getting caught. Balding old white men who can shoot like that don’t strike me as the type who run away.

EDIT: Waiting for confirmation on whether the actual suspect is caught or not.

A statement released by the university said a “single shot was fired on campus toward a visiting speaker. Police are investigating now, suspect in custody.” A university spokeswoman later told the New York Times that police had determined the person detained earlier was not the shooter, and that no suspect was currently in custody.

Looks like the guy initially arrested turned out to not be involved (maybe just another guy with a high powered rifle? Don’t know, must make things hard in the US). Or have they since arrested someone else?

Probably one of those “open carry” dipshits, hanging around to show off his gun, and when someone gets shot, he’s the first guy they focus on, giving the real shooter a head start on his escape. Nice job being a witless accomplice.

Any politician that completely supports Trump is fair game at this point. Things will not return to normal by talking. If you dont wanna live in a dictatorship wake the fuck up. If you live in the US (i luckily dont) then learn how to use a gun, because its gonna get much much worse than the way it is right now.

          Reminds me of a joke.

Back during the 1950s, a USSR elementary school is discussing the definition of different words. The teacher asks “who can say what catastrophe means?” Dmitri raises his hand, “if my mother dropped her groceries on the way home, that would be a catastrophe.” Teacher: “not quite, that would be a misfortune, it wouldn’t be a catastrophe.” Svetlana raises her hand and says “if a plane were to crash, that would be a catastrophe.” Teacher: “not exactly, that would certainly be a tragedy but not a catastrophe. Then Sasha raises his hand, “if our great comrade Stalin died, that would be a catastrophe.” Teacher: “very good! That would indeed be a catastrophe. How did you know that was correct?” Sasha: “well, it wouldn’t be a misfortune, it wouldn’t be a tragedy…”

Haha, I’ve heard this same joke before but with Ian Paisley, the unionist leader in Northern Ireland.

“How did you know that that would be a tragedy, if my plane were to crash?”

“Well it wouldn’t be a great loss, and it definitely wouldn’t be an accident.”

            It’s a good one.

Unlimited AR-15s and Glocks to every minority.

This is unironically the same idea that started the Black Panthers. People noticed that peaceful unarmed protests were violently busted by the cops… But peaceful heavily armed protests were politely watched from across the street. So they started arming the people who were protesting, and those people were largely minorities.

We don’t know the politics of the shooter so far, but one thing the right seems to not understand is they have an absurdly low threshold for violence.

A right winger will assault if not kill someone for the most minor of “infractions” if they have a reason at all. Most of the time it’s just existing in a way they don’t like or “Walking while black”. They are bloodthirsty and just want to kill everyone who isn’t like them.

The left also has a threshold it’s just a lot higher. Some may even say too high, but the left doesn’t kill someone over the clothes they wear or even being directly insulted and threatened.

Most of the “violence” from the left is fucking property damage, but pushed far enough the left can and will defend themselves and their communities.

The key difference I’ve noticed between left wing vs right wing political discourse is that left wing politicians, pundits, and commentators very rarely rile up their base or audience with violent rhetoric, but right wingers do.

I don’t imagine that would be enough time for someone to even process the various stimuli enough to realize that what just happened was a gunshot, tbh, let alone consider the implications of that.

Assuming the time wasn’t an exaggeration that is, I’m fairly squeamish so I don’t think I’ll be watching that video to see how long it really was.

      Internet medical expert here.

Arteries spray, so must have hit a vein. That is survivable if you get fast medical attention to stop the bleeding. It’s dicey, but since it’s already been over an hour, he either has enough blood left at this point or he doesn’t.

      Edit: nevermind

He lost consciousness instantly, indicating significant loss of blood pressure towards the brain, i.e., an artery was hit.

Secondly, not just hit but completely severed, explaining the massive non-spraying blood loss; similar to why a garden hose without the nozzle just flows. Only if it were a small enough puncture it would spray.

There’s so many layers of irony to this event. You can’t make this shit up.

A man, who made a career downplaying gun violence and advocating against empathy for its victims, was shot while giving a talk about his favorite topic under a tent that said “Prove me wrong”, on a college campus in a state that just lifted its ban on weapons on college campuses. His own quotes can be endlessly used to shut down any outrage at his ironic demise.

Charlie Kirk’s final moments were spent being definitively and completely proven wrong.

If this wasn’t going to used as an excuse to ban Trans people from owning firearms and for further violence against the opposition, it would be hilarious.
