And it lasts 6 months, tops. Then we’re on to the next thing, and so on, and so forth, while our lives crumble into meaningless dust.

    It’s not a superpower.

I suppose this is why I feel like a child all the time, it’s fine, I think more people could use this perspective as they really lose sight of things they used to enjoy and focus on success. It has it’s downsides, such as having a cursory knowledge of many, many things and a bunch of skills I may or may not use but no real mastery.

People are always asking how I know so much random shit it’s like none of them have ever been down a wikipedia rabbithole. I’ve been on a two year rabbithole on esoteric spiritual traditions (astrology, cartomancy, palimistry, tasseography, numerology, alchemy etc). There’s just so much to keep learning about the history of all this stuff and the symbols and what parts of them turned into the foundations of modern sciences. The comparative mythology between the egyptians, greeks / romans, and even the norse is fascinating, especially when you look at how the days of the seven-day week are named after analagous gods in romance vs germanic languages. 10/10 highly recommend both wikibinges as a whole as well as those specific subjects.
