James Gunn said that this season of Peacemaker was going to set up the big overarching story for this first bit of DCU movies. Since episode 1 I’ve been thinking it was going to be multiverse stuff, but Gunn has said there was still something big coming.

So far, nothing that big has happened besides Luthor’s cameo. So now I’m wondering if Peacemaker’s fallout will be multiverse anti-versions of our characters that invade the prime Earth of the DCU and Keith will be the one to start gathering different versions of heroes as he looks through the multiverse using his doorway until he finds the Peacemaker he wants revenge on?

It’s either that or I’m guessing some Crisis storyline.

Happersen mentioned that the portals were more stable than the ones created for Lex. I’m guessing Happersen is already at the Van Kull facility where Lex is getting transferred to.

The portals are going to cause some havoc next episode, but ARGUS is ultimately going to come out “ok”. But… in an effort to keep exploring they’re going to give the technology to Lex (and Happersen).

Either in the next episode or as a result of exploring the technology they’re going to get the attention of a big bad, someone like Brainiac or Darkseid.

That is entirely possible and makes sense to me.

Gunn made it sound as if this season was going to shape the direction of the DCU for the “gods and monsters” phase so if it’s just a tease for the next villain in a single movie then I feel it will be kind of a letdown.

The only part that’s confusing to me is that all of Lex’s portals go to the pocket dimension, then back to our universe. (With the exception of the black hole which I think leads to Bizzaro world which would be a new universe)

Versus Peacemaker portals seem to all lead to new universes.

Now the answer could just be that Lex’s portals aren’t powerful enough, but they feel like different technology.

It course there is still the question of “Who created the fancy portal device and room” and I’m guessing the bug guy Auggie killed is the first hint. (Maybe we’ll see Earth X Auggie getting the device as a cold open next episode. I’m guessing he didn’t shoot his bug person.)

That episode went in a completely different direction than I would have guessed. Except Chris missing the giant painting of Hitler, that part was obvious.

Auggie was the biggest surprise of the episode. He wasn’t a Nazi, or at least not as bad as I would have thought. He seemed to fully understand the complications of different worlds existing. Also seeing the other (our) Auggie as the darker version of himself was an interesting take. It makes sense, it’s just a complicated look at a character.

I have no idea what’s in store for next episode, except for Keith getting revenge.

    Next episode preview spoilers

And I guess opening every door. One of those doors is going to lead to things being worse off, but it could literally be anything.

Also I figure Rick Flag Sr would reunite with his son, even if it’s his Nazi son, but I don’t see that happening now.
