It’s pretty clear the US immigration system cannot be trusted and it’s basically run by criminals and chauvinists.
The rest of the world really needs to increase restrictions on US meddling and travel of criminal types, not so much tourists (although you probably want to restrict entry for far right extremist), but more along the line of various criminal groups that are considered technically legal (oligarch gang members, “VC” criminal groups, financial terrorism organizations).

Disappointing how many comments are already here just accepting this as a fait accompli. In the scheme of everything going on this is admittedly pretty minor, but damn I’d expect a lot more defiance over this.

Yeah, definitely agreed. When I said that it’s a sad day, I was specifically speaking about this situation but yes there are about a thousand other reasons as well that it is a sad day, week, month, etc.
