For months, investigators would have to wait to issue subpoenas or interview witnesses to gather new information,” the authors write, adding that Garland “had chosen to impose a very conservative interpretation of what DOJ officials called the 60-day rule,” urging prosecutors to avoid taking public investigative steps within two months of Election Day that involve candidates in that election.

Garland is going down in the history books as a key enabler of this regime, and he’s somewhat responsible for everything happening now.

Absolutely, she contributed by not stepping down during Obama, but that was a lesser contribution. Also Bitch McConnell would’ve just held up her confirmation forever too.

I started to think Garland was a deep mole for the far-right GOP years ago, his inaction was beyond incompetence, it’s almost as if he WANTED to run the clock out for any meaningful prosecutions.

You mean someone picked by Obama to be a supreme court justice because he was a republican was also terrible at being Bidens attorney general…

But yeah Biden really showed the GOP with that pick

I kind of half get the concept, they don’t want the precident to be say… if you are afraid of losing the election to an incumbent, send the FBI to raid their house. Publicly announce you are looking for child pornography and claim you’ll announce the results after the election.

Something that whether trump runs again or not, and if there’s another election is almost certainly going to happen (to protect the election for whoever is going to protect trump from his crimes after his presidency, whether that’s trump, vance, one of his kids or whatever).

Same time there was fricking obvious cases here. It’s not like fishing expeditions like trumps launching at his political opponents right now. and to top it off it doesn’t even matter again because moderates are so worried about setting a precident that the other side can use to justify their horrific actions, without realizing that the extremists, don’t give any fucks about precident. They’ll cite it when they have it, but if they don’t have it they will just steamroll ahead anyway.

By not setting that precedent, though, they have instead set the precedent that it’s okay to steal extremely sensitive and highly classified materials and get away with it. And also set the precedent it’s okay to riot if you lose an election.

When you don’t your job out of fear of being political… YOU ARE BEING POLITICAL.

This has been what has always pissed me off. Follow the law to the letter and avoid being political, and avoid inaction due to politics, which is the same fucking thing in the end, to your point.

Play hardball with Criminals, regardless of party affiliation. It literally should not matter what side of the aisle you sit on.

like. it took them over a year and a half just to get the warrant to raid maralago. And they never got everything back.

They didn’t search a closet because the door was locked. They scheduled the whole raid with trump’s protection detail. If it were almost literally anyone else, we would have been cuffed up and walked out the house before they even began searching, stuffed in the back of a truck and formally arrested when they found the classified shit.

and we’re not talking about low level things getting leaked on warthunder, here. we’re talking high level sources of espionage in places like Russia. We’re talking nuclear designs and capabilities. things that are literally the most heavily classified materials the government has.

if it had been any one else, Trump would have been raided jan 21, 2021, not august 8, 2022, and he’d probably never have seen daylight again. but eh. sure. “lets not be political”

I posted this comment just yesterday and it fits perfectly here, so I’m copy pasting it.

How is that an insult? In fact the only thing I would say is incorrect is the word ‘failures’, since I think they (the liberals, be it the Democrats or the equivalent in other countries) haven’t failed at all, quite the opposite, they’ve played their part masterfully to bring us here. And before the liberals around feel attacked, this is not a ‘both sides are the same’ comment. That’s not how controlled opposition works. It’s more ‘both sides work together, even when they do very different things, to achieve the same goals’. Just an example. While Trump’s DoJ is prosecuting people only because they are political opponents, Biden’s didn’t prosecute actual criminals (specially an orange one) because ‘they were political opponents, and it’s a bad look’. They disguise their inaction as civility, when it’s clear as water they’re doing it to further the plans of the people paying them, which is the same privileged class that’s paying the other side. Even this side of the pond, without a ‘first pass the post’ system, with lots of parties, coalitions, and what not, it’s still exactly the same play.

Concept of “”“independent DOJ”“” was still a thing until 2025. And these fucks STILL bitch about political persecution! I’ll show them some goddamn political persecution, it’s called a guillotine for anyone who looked the other way during the insurrection.

If you don’t excise cancer soon enough, surgical removal is no longer an option and you either kill it with chemicals and radiation or die trying. I’m up for a good time.
