Merino really does deserve more credit than he gets. Last season he started playing in a brand new position - striker no less - because we were desperately short on options. No fuss or drama from him, and for the most part he delivered. He’s been a real asset to the squad.
And great to see Dowman get more incentive to show him why he’s at the right club. He’s living the dream - getting minutes at such a young age and backing everyone, all for the club he’s a fan of.
Just hope all the tackles Dowman is getting now (in senior and U21) won’t come back to haunt him later.

Close to perfect night. No apparent injuries, excellent goals from Merino, another rock solid defensive display, no yellow for Rice.
Glad we shat on them. Discovered that their massive striker who fronted up to Hincapie in the first half got a six match ban earlier in the season for deliberately punching a goalie in the groin. This was in addition to racist remarks he was alleged to have made in December. Nasty bunch.
