I want to try the hot end thermistor modificaiton on my P1S so I can print PPS-CF. I see 300blkfde shared a video [] (https://fosscad.io/post/66994) on the OG Foscad (rip) but the video didn’t make it on the ark. Has anyone successfully done this that could show me the way?
Late reply but I actually did save a copy. I’ve uploaded to Catbox: https://files.catbox.moe/pvjtlf.mp4
Thank you so much!!! Been looking fo this everywhere!!! What a god send.
you’re a true asset to this community! thank you!
I feel like crimping a jst sm on the ends of the thermistor wire and doing a loop with normal wire to each and putting the resistor on that with heat shrink is probably a more sturdy solution long term. You have more than enough room inside the front faceplate to make it work. I used jst sm on all my hotend connections on my 500c ender with zero issues. And that’s fans, crtouch, heater and pt1000. So no worries about it melting a connector as long as it doesn’t touch the nozzle.
I got this working for both the bed and the hot end. Both have an inline switch so I can turn the resistor circuit off when the extra heat isn’t needed. Bed now reaches 130℃, and the hot end reaches 345℃. PPS-CF prints beautifully!
what did you use for the switches and what ohm resistor did you use for the bed? Any instructions if someone else wanted to do this?
Does anyone have the Gcode edit that you need to do for this?
