After switching from hyprland to sway and niri I found my now favorite: river wm. Because simple and fast as hell. But what grinds my gears is the missing opportunity to switch through workspaces (river calls them tags). Mod4+Tab for endless rushing through all spaces is something I really like. Did someone managed to bring this feature up and running? Are here other fans of river wm?
Looked promising. But its outdated.
Outdated how? I use it for my daily driver and it works fine for me. It’s a fairly simple program and the 0.3.x river protocol is fairly stable so I would doubt it’s become outdated, but if it is, you should be able to patch it yourself given the simplicity of the program.
I love river!!! Lowkey one of the most underrated compositors.
I don’t have a great answer, but I imagine some kind of while loop would work in this case.
Does river have a niri-like scrolling layout handler yet? (One where windows don’t resize when new windows are generated)
