Had a conversation with a coworker about why I won’t ever consider buying a Tesla, and first they denied Musk being a nazi, and then tried to play it off as “why does it even matter if he’s a nazi? It’s not like he’s hurting anyone, only jews need to be afraid of nazis”. Lost every single ounce of respect for that corworker today. Nazis don’t deserve to live, they absolutely fucking don’t deserve my money, and playing it off as: “at least his idealogi isn’t trying to murder YOU specfically”, is just fucking insane.
It never went away. Even in Germany, everyone blamed 10 guys and got off Scott free. For decades, Nazis would meet around Himmler’s daughter and they showed no remorse until they died.
The only difference now is people are saying things out loud.
