The first person camera! Maybe this could be a half life style, fully immersive narrative? VR? With the premise maybe we’ll be able to have some less linear mission structure like ACX? Or maybe fleet or base building?! THE POSSIBILITIES! Oh and that narrative premise is so topical.

    God I can’t wait! (i need a new pc :( )

I was hoping that AC8 would be a second Belkan War and we could finally bring that storyline to a close, but this still seems cool. Not sure what I’ll play it on, though. I don’t own any current-gen consoles and the PC version of AC7 still isn’t available on any DRM-free platforms.

This does raise the interesting question of what happens to Belka between the end of AC7 and the start of AC3. Belka (as far as I am aware) still exists in its post AC:Zero form at the end of the Lighthouse War, and almost certainly does not when all the corporations take over in 3. Maybe we’ll see a game set in the transition period between the two states? Probably quite a long shot though.

The thing is, while most of Belka’s interference in world affairs was fairly low-key and easy to cover up prior to the Lighthouse War, their actions there had world-spanning effects (such as the destruction of the satellite communications network) that would be much harder to ignore. Add to that the fact that the details of the Circum-Pacific war were due to be declassified at around the same time and we’d start seeing a lot of anti-Belka sentiment in the post-AC7 world, which would likely factor into AC8’s story, which is why I assumed that it would be about a second Belkan war.
