I am thinking of getting into PCVR. Should I play Elite Dangerous? I have a copy on Epic Games already but I would imagine it would be better to grab a copy on steam.

For me, Elite Dangerous is the single best VR game. Immersive, unlikely to cause motion sickness, visually stunning.

I spent weeks laser and core mining in a cheap Quest 2 headset. Shame those activities don’t pay well, but it was 1000x more enjoyable for me.

Everything else is slightly better too, with the unfortunate exception of on-foot content which throws you out of VR and into a virtualized monitor mode.

Dang, that’s a little disappointing. Are you able to take off your headset mid-game and switch to desktop mode?

Okay cool! I think I could manage that fine. I just won a bid on a PSVR2 set so I’m super excited!

            Thanks for the advice :)

I lied, the “monitor mode” is still tracking the headset position, so you should restart the game, but it’s okay for small things like menuing or whatever

Gotcha, thanks for testing it. If I really wanted to be jank, I could switch to m&k+monitor on the headset passthrough and keep my headset on to look forward… but I think I’ll just follow your advice.
