Ventured into the city to check out the new train stations and have a general wander around. Love the new stations!! Topped off with a delicious ramen meal from a place we hadn’t tried yet.

The lifts in my building are both broken. Again.

I’ve got my six year old niece’s birthday party to get to, and no idea when I’ll be able to leave the house. For fuck’s sake

Vacuum cleaner really sucks. 10/10 would vacuum again.

It does a much better job than the old stick, possibly better than the plug in vacuum too. The auto emptying feature is amazing, you just hang it up on the charging station and it automatically vacuums the dust out into a bag in the tower without you having to do anything. I let it get to 90% charge before I tried it out and it didn’t have enough power to do the whole house, but I didn’t figure out how to put it on the low power mode (which is all it needs for the hard floor areas) until I’d nearly finished, so it shouild be fine to do the whole lot in future. And it has the second battery if I want to use the handheld to do other bits or to use the mopping attachment too. Once I get enough charge in the battery again I’ll try the mopping head out. It’s just damp spinning microfibre pads, so I can’t see how it could not work ok.

You can get a version that has a robot vacuum that docks underneath the tower, but after the nasty tail-tangling incident where a robot tried to eat my dog’s tail I don’t trust those things.

It’s an LG, 9x ultra2. I upsold myself quite a bit when I saw the auto emptying feature, I hate cleaning and then having to deal with a canister of dust and hair which invariably makes a new mess.

I was unable to stay awake longer than 10:30 last night and only just woke up now. I guess I needed a major catch up sleep!

I hope its fixed by the time you get home so you don’t have to go up six flights of stairs…

My vaccuum cleaner came with a voucher for 10% of it’s purchase price, so I’ve just ordered a fancy red pair of Kitchenaid beaters. I’ve been resisting buying a pair when mine broke because I knew mum would have some she doesn’t need when she moved into the serviced apartment, but it turns out I really hate the ones she had - the beaters keep coming out while you are using it! I don’t know if they are faulty or really badly designed.

I have the best marketplace story.

Make plans to meet a dude at 7-11 about 15 mins from my house at 10am.

I’m waiting and this hardcore crackhead on a pushy carrying a literal kitchen sink rolls past, takes one look at me and rides off.

2 seconds later the marketplace dude leaves the chat hahaha

    Fucking crackheads lol

The vacuum cleaner has been unboxed and put together ready to go. Now I have to wait for the battery to charge so I can actually try it out.

You can try it out at my place if you want free of charge. I’ll even let you do all the rooms just to make sure it works.

Thanks for the kind offer, but I think I’ve got enough space to try it out here 😁

I’ve just installed the app - it is wifi connected so I can check on the battery charge level without leaving my seat, it will remind me when I need to clean filters and it monitors how much time I’ve used it for. Hopefully not in a creepy way.

I suspect it’s more useful for the robot vac where you are not actively using it yourself. They seem to like to put wifi into everything these days though.

The only other appliance I have with wifi is my rice cooker. The wifi is very useful for me because I bought the cooker cheap and it is Chinese, so I can’t actually tell what any of the buttons do. The app has an English version, so without that I can’t do anything except basic rice starting right now. With it I can set the timer and make youghurt and other things.

Laundry for me today, and maybe grocery shopping if I can be bothered. Also attempting to declutter, one small bit at a time.

I’m in the doghouse. Went out to resow the dead grass pots, Melbcat slipped out when I was coming in and I had to wrangle her back inside. But that sun has a bite to it and it wasn’t a good time to be out.
