I vastly prefer working with SLA printers, and with a very slight length adjustment and manual supports, I can fit the parts on my build plate. I’m 100% confident the print would succeed (waiting on Pop Pop to say they won’t shoot my dog).

Comparing the TDS of something like Siraya Blu Nylon Black, the stats are very close to the ideal minimums recommended by Hoffman Tactical.

I don’t really care if it melts after a bunch of rounds (it won’t), nor if it abrades easily. I just want it to not explode and to kinda sorta function.

Am I crazy for hoping?

You are going to make a shrapnel bomb.

That said, testing whether this makes a shrapnel bomb now costs $0. Do not take this to a populated public range, demo it somewhere safe with adequate PPE and a gun on a string.

The SSS (super simple suppressor, 22 cal by Mr snark) is the only suppressor I’ve heard of that was actually tested in resin

Edit: I have no idea what resin but presumably a tough resin

If you have the build volume, you can print a ftn4 in whtever resin you want. then use the aluminum tube. should keep it from exploding and you could cut the tube away after a few rounds to see if it held up.

That’s a great idea. I wasn’t sure if that was even a thing, but I’ve been toying with ways of reinforcing the outer tube while I wait and random metal tubing was high on my list. Can’t resist trying all plastic for serial 1, though.
