Toby Fox is a fan of wordplay and was planning things in his head for years before the first game even started development. There are tons of little details like this.
And 90% of the details that aren’t puns or anagrams are hidden in the soundtrack. Leitmotifs pop up everywhere.
I feel like you’re doing somebody a disservice by describing the plot of undertale to them. It’s something that you should really experience for yourself. Personally I’m miserable at bullet Hell type shit but I did watch an extremely long full play which is close enough for me.
