Governments will change, people on the top might change. The question is whether they will face any consequences for their actions. Will the US as a whole face any consequence of its actions. Like the consequences other countries face when they do the stuff America is doing right now.
Or will it be back to normal as soon as the regime changes.
Will there be any lasting effects in how the world deals with US?
No empire lasts forever and I think the US’ is already in decline. A large part of America’s global power is its network of allies and Trump is doing massive damage to those relations. Places like Europe are pushing for more independence and self-sufficiency. The Gulf states are being bombed thanks to America starting a war - no doubt they’ll rethink their relations somewhat after that. At the same time, China’s power and network of allies is steadily growing, without them starting wars left and right. So even if the US elects a sane president again, I think the damage will have been done. They will never be as trusted by their allies as they had been in the post-WW2 world order and they will steadily lose their global influence.
The vast majority of the U.S. population has been suffering the consequences of the government’s actions for decades.
Maybe politically they will somehow fix some of their relations with the rest of tde world if they elect a sane president (maybe). However, the fact remains: they elected a clown twice and there’s a huge portion of them willing to elect him again. The damage is done and even if they repair their relations, it won’t be the same.
Socially on the other hand? Yeah, they are done for. People are done with usian culture and their influence is fading rapidly. People don’t want usian products, and the want to be further from them, not closer. The US have lost their status as the “beacon of the western world”.
Not until it becomes weaker militarily and economically is this a possibility or if the American population actually does something (unlikely near term).
The US will eventually punish itself if no one else does. The US government will bomb it’s own citizens in a false flag before the next presidential election if not this year’s mid terms unless someone else does it. Either way same end result. Postponed elections and postponed consequences.
The question is whether they will face any consequences for their actions.
Given how old Trump is, probably not any clear consequences. Perhaps if America continues what its doing, eventually some of the people involved today will face consequences of their actions.
Like the consequences other countries face when they do the stuff America is doing right now.
Stuff like having oil and not being a vassal? Its clearly not based them doing awful things to people, otherwise we’d be bombing places like Israel instead of providing them bombs. Anyways, probably not. Nukes are at least a deterrent against direct aggression…

I’d love to believe so. Its disheartening seeing how much W. Europe and Australia have been on-board with all of this though, but we’ll see if that changes over time. They’re still working on becoming more independent of the US and that will take some time. I’d be cool if it disrupted US relations with GCC states and further downgraded the role USD as the petrodollar (and/or a renewed push to become less dependent on fossil fuels). It’ll be interesting to see the consequences of going through many years of military supply production in a couple weeks
Thing is Trump is not the only one in the government. Everyone from the top to the very bottom of GOP is involved in each and everything the government is doing.
Whether or not Trump faces consequences is immaterial if he is just made a scapegoat while US continues being the world bully.
