You know how the wild west was considered lawless, where the only authority flowed from the barrel of a gun?
Not sure ‘no authority’ is really a great place to be.
Because the whole world is the wild west.
And not sure if you noticed, but all authority flows from the barrel of the gun or did you think police and militaries use tactical hugs and kisses?
the wild west had a hierarchy based on means, and no authority does not mean lawlessness
Is there a way to overcome hierarchy based on means? Groups with better access to resources will always exist, right?
Redistribution of ressources is one of the main ideas of any socialist ideology, including anarchism. So the whole society would be structured in a way to mitigate that problem.
I mentioned it in another comment, but I think I just need to read about this before making comments here. I have too many questions that I feel like have probably been asked a million times before and have been thoroughly answered at this point.
there is an faq
You are very welcome to ask those questions here or for example in any of the anarchism communities on lemmy. For example !anarchism@slrpnk.net is pretty open to questions, but so are the others.

Good place to start. The theory category is good for this specific topic but the rest are also very informative if you wish to read further.
I would argue that that’s much of the point of a government.
I think I just need to find some literature on this then. I imagined government acting in this way would automatically be an authority figure.
You know you are talking about movies right?
