A biological weapon made by ancient aliens called the Architects and discovered by Weyland Yutani itself, right? I could be remembering things wrong but that’s the lore that is in my head.
It might not kill you though, it might psychically control you and use you as a worker bee to drag more prey back to the hive. (In the comics the queens can get pretty intelligent and recognize humans as useful for more than incubators)
