I’m getting strong Neoliberal/Zionist vibes from the author. Was not pleasant to read their post.
Oh totally, but I find admissions from people whose biases lie with the empire are most valuable. It’s not that he wants these things to happen, and cherry picking facts for the narrative. He’s upset the empire is crumbling, but he has enough intellectual integrity to acknowledge that it is happening.
it’s difficult to discern intellectual integrity from narrative cherry picking if you’re a newbie leftist like myself.
This is where identifying the biases of the author is useful. People tend to cherry pick facts that support their existing beliefs and desires as a rule.
He seems to be missing the point that Iran is a close ally of China. And the US absolutely wants to isolate China from its allies.
I agree, the US wants to prevent a Eurasian bloc from forming at all costs. Iran and Afghanistan are a big part of the BRI which connect China with West Asia. And that’s why the US has been destabilizing the region obsessively.
