yeah “refuses to lose weight”, because they didn’t know he was fat when they cast him.

and no, the show doesn’t even try to come up with an explanation. why would it. he’s fat, we know why people may be fat. like what the fuck was this idiot smoking when he watched the show that he thinks Hurley’s weight is the main focus?

as someone who can’t be bothered to watch Lost, what are some of the reasons given for him remaining fat?

Hurley was only on the island for 108 days before being rescued. As he said on the show “I’m a big guy, it’s gonna be a while before I lose a few notches”. 108 days isn’t a massive amount of time.

In season two he did hoard some food from The Hatch for himself, but then when the 2nd food drop came he ultimately gave it all away (served as part of his character arc). There was never a 3rd drop of food in the show.

This is just a silly meme it’s best not to judge the show from it. They don’t “keep making up excuses”.

I recall something about him finding a case of candy bars in the plane’s wreckage, and hiding them so he could have them all to himself.

They find an abandoned station full of nonperishable food supplies and he becomes the person in charge of supply rationing.

Also I think at one point they pull the “I tried, but I just can’t seem to lose the weight” card and kinda give up.

But most importantly, if he lost a ton of weight those time travel episodes would be tough to track!

Meanwhile Huell Babineaux is slim and trim in Better Call Saul, massive in Breaking Bad, then back to slim and trim in the Better Call Saul scenes that take place after Breaking Bad.

The opening text image did explicitly say that the writers did come up with explanations.

The guy who played Sam in game of thrones said he would ask people, who pointed out tye similar plot hole with his character, something along the lines of “you know I don’t actually live on the wall right?” I don’t want to search for the clip to find the exact quote so sorry if that’s too far off.

Is this implying that everyone on those stranded-on-a-desert-island shows are just actors and they stay in hotels and live comfortably when the camera isn’t on them?
