I love how much he doesn’t realize discovery will be part of this process.

Kiddo, you can’t throw SLAPP suits at journalists when you’re swimming in evidence you’re doing exactly what the jounalist said you’re doing.

He knows all that. He was a lawyer. He also knows how the bullshit civil courts work in the US and how Americans think suing someone means you are validated.

The later is not absolute evidence for the former. There are lawyers who are also morons. Well known example: Rudy Giuliani. I sincerely believe that Patel may not understand the hole he’s dug for himself.

Also, you can just harass and paper-whip a journalist out of existence a lot easier when you’re the head of the FBI. Hell, worse comes to worst, call up your buddies in charge of the Pentagon or CIA, I’m sure they can find someone to just knock off the plaintiffs for cheap.

That normally implies cordial relations between heads of departments. No one in the administration likes anyone else, they like themselves and sucking up to Trump to benefit themselves.

Kash would need to get Trump to get someone else to cooperate and you can’t go running to the boss to clean up your mess when you’re supposed to be cleaning up his!

He’s a bully, so he thinks that the threat of a lawsuit will make the problem go away. He hasn’t thought about what happens if it goes further than that.

He could’ve ignored the news and not sued anyone and it probably would’ve blown over in a few days. He’s streisanding himself and hopefully he gets counter sued for damages and then gets fired

Literally nothing about this joke is denigrating southeast Asians, it’s just a pun-infused pop culture reference. You need to understand what racism is before you start lobbing it as an accusation…

Pejoratively, and based on his race. I suppose you’d argue it’s fine to call a Japanese man “Mr Miyagi”, or African American man “Kunta Kinte”?

This is the same shit racist, conservative bigots do, and it’s not OK just because it’s aimed at them this time.

Lol, “annoying”. Good. Most people don’t like their racism called out. Those with actual merit can manage to self reflect, though. Whining about how the calling out makes you feel bad is pretty much the opposite of that.

From what I can see …?

There’s a movie called Slumdog Millionaire where it’s a guy that comes up from the slums and enters the “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” gameshow.

He changed the word “slum” to “rum” because he drinks booze and I guess enters the Whitehouse.

I don’t think the poster thought more than the wordplay but others are tying in other class and cultural aspects of the movie and applying it this instance. Others are saying name calling is sad.

I’m tired, it’s a Friday night and I’m figuring out whether to study more on how to get better observability on my k8s cluster or just do more agentic programming stuff because my director told me this week that AI is going to take over everything and we’re just going to write JIRA tickets and let the AI bots code and we’re not allowed to code any more and I feel like I need rum myself to deal with this internal struggle I’m dealing with.

South asian, not south east asian. It’s not racist but I definitely rolled my eyes. It’s a movie from 20 years ago and Americans are not known for being particularly ‘worldly’ so it comes across as sees brown person - oh here’s a movie from a couple decades ago that I remember had similar looking people in it

His misconduct is an asset to his bosses. This kind of administration doesn’t hire people who don’t already have a good reason to be fired. Yes-men have to be easy to fire and they have to know it. Otherwise they start thinking for themselves.

There is a player, I believe wearing a blue shirt (top left), who appeared unimpressed with the Keystone Cop and the way he guzzles down beer. What a complete waste of good beer that is going to be pissed out by a fucking clown.
