        All fighting is a little like that though. Boxing has “journeymen” who often have 5:100 win:loss records and are just there to train startup boxers and not risk hurting them.

        Once in a while they win against morons like Jake Paul, but I think that usually happens when they’re ready to retire, since that might keep them from getting called up again.

        And with all the betting apps now I think the likelihood of fixing all sports are astronomically higher.

        You know just because you’re on lemmy, there can be people from piefed, mbin, and mastodon from 100s of different instances too, right??

      I mean, either he knew in advance that it was staged and he wasn’t in any real danger, or he’s literally insane and delusional about his own mortality. Neither is a good look on his part.

            I’m not so sure if you are ducking for you life after hearing gunshots, you are paying attention to who is not ducking. I have no idea if he ducked or not, but I don’t think the attempt was fake. I think Dana is stupid.

        Agreed. Lemmy users claiming that every assassination attempt is fake is just as cringeworthy and bizarre as when some Republicans used to insist school shootings were fake or staged.

        I’m watching Lemmy posters slowly morph into the very people they claim to hate. They just vote D instead of R. That’s the only real difference. It’s crazy to see it happening in real time. In this very thread there is a guy saying it was “staged.” lolol (Hi @SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world )
