I disagree with Merz. It’s not Iran that humiliates US. It’s their own president who started a war without a good plan. Or, more generally speaking, who started a war.

Maybe they should hold politicians responsible for their actions and make it illegal for them to lie, and prosecute them if they do.
Politicians have a lot of influence and can help bring peace in certain situations. But in general they are people who desire power and should not hold position of power because of that.

Why is it silly? Especially in the US there’s a lot of corruption in politics, so it would be really great if they were held accountable. I know it doesn’t happen, but it should as it would make politics a lot more clean and honest.
