As I say to stupid shit like this all the time, no it’s not normal here, that’s why there’s a news story about it.

We’re lucky we got a story about it. It’s because there was clear video evidence. The police are fucking notorious for sweeping stuff like this under the rug.

John Oliver talks about several instances with and without bodycam footage that they try to hide. And, again, those are just some of the cases we know about.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP4_2soVZe0

Your trust in media is misplaced. Following that logic, genocide is normal, hence why we don’t get many stories on what’s actually going on.

Just think of Alex Pretti and Nicole Good. We know, not because of the police or media, but because bystanders had clead evidence to push the media to actually do their jobs for once.

Further case in point is how little we’ve heard about ICE recently. Because they’re still out in force. But I suppose because the violence and rogue law enforcement is “normal” we don’t need to report on it anymore, huh?

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZQe3zGGLZk

1984 is a very relevant read right now.

Every year there are 2,430 regular season MLB games played. Every one of them has, at minimum, at least one news story about it.

Oh so you mean to say that your logic only applies in that one single instance and if you apply it to anything else it falls apart immediately? Funny that.

An occurrence in a crosswalk doesn’t align with the scale and attention of a paid event attended by thousands, sponsored by the city, and pushed to headlines by a ton of sponsors and the like. I get what you’re trying to do here but it really misses the mark.

A better parallel would be school shootings. We have ~3/day and headlines don’t always make it out of the district they happen in.

      White justice

Also, the law is selectively applied if you hadn’t noticed. Gotta keep the plebeians in line and keep the bootlickers loyal enough. Easier to keep this one on the job than to find another to do the elite’s bidding.

Americans really hate their kids don’t they, almost as much as they hate foreign kids.

Shoot them, rape them, run over them with cars, double tap them with their favourite hobby toys, do nothing about stopping any of it happening.

Yes, killing and harming kids in the US is normal.

It’s cop rehab. His off-duty per diem will be increased 30% while he recovers from the traumatic incident, and he’ll be on PTO until the violent protesters that were blocking his car are out of the hos—children? Make it 50% and an extra few weeks.

Consider that you’re watching a person react while you’re in a totally calm state of mind, and prepared for what you’re going to see.
You can see them react to the car, step in front of it and hit it. To me the appearance is of a person who sees the cars motion as the source of danger, so they react to that. A moment passes and you can see the priorities sorting as they see the kids getting up, the cart still in the road, the lost shoe, and the panicked looking driver.

They’re running around a lot, but they’re holding one of the children within 10 seconds of the incident.
It might not be the perfect response in hindsight, but “car danger: make car stop. Now driver danger: make driver stop” is not an unreasonable first reaction. Particularly if you don’t know if the driver saw the accident and is going to just hit them, pause and then keep going, or realize what he’s done and then flee, running them over.

It is unfortunately not unexpected for me at all, american born into a conservative family.

So many people will literally virtue signal about how they would attack or kill a person who offended them in some way or who deserves it or has it coming, when most of the time they would passively do nothing.

Driving into somebody’s kids right in front of them is pretty fucking bad, obviously, so a person doesn’t exactly need to be iamverybadass material to go on the attack.

Didn’t some private citizen just get sentenced to like 25 years in prison for hitting a mother and child? And this guy just gets nothing? I get they aren’t the same case, no idea how badly hurt these kids are, but the mother and child were killed in the store I’m referencing, and that private citizen was doing over 100mph… But that went to trial and the 25 years was middle of the road sentencing for the charges brought. This guy doesn’t even have charges brought? Does he even get his license suspended? I assume not without charges…

They getting qualified immunity while off the clock now too, wtf?

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

      -Wilhoit’s Law

Why do you think the pigs always kiss the ass of conservatives and fascists? So they can be in the first group.

So this is where is suppose to protest. Not no kings bullshit with no legitimate goal just vibes. This is clear as day the little things that add up to a fucked up system. You show up in droves. You find the judge and demand justice be served and you don’t let up. And if you can’t fucking get positive change here, none of you have any business thinking you’ll accomplish anything at anything bigger. But you sure we fuck can’t skip these things and think you’ll go right to the majors

Your tone, word choice, generally poor sentence structure, and grammar are characteristic of an older gentleman who has been drawn in by Facebook’s algorithmic feed. Only god knows what wild conspiracy theories, snake oil, and AI generated hoes you’ve been exposed to, but the fact you’ve stumbled upon the fediverse is befuddling. Maybe you found a MAGA group that encourages its members to brigade leftie spaces, like if you were on 4Chan in the 2010s? (Ask yourself what you were actually doing in 2010 instead of these childish internet games)

I could be wrong about your age, of course. I’m not pretending to be psychic of anything. Older people struggle with grammar and scams online due to many factors, but stupid young people do too. If you are the latter, then I sympathize. Your circumstances are more likely the result of a society that failed it’s youth than your own mental retardation.
