I just watched a video about the games and how bad the performance from the running athletes was. A bunch of the 100m sprinters ran faster times when they were in high school. I think the guy that won the 100m didn’t even PB, his time was outside the top 5 at the last Olympics. This event was definitely not what the organizers expected.
It’s a new thing, probably also takes some time to optimise. I’m more interested in what it looks like 10 years from now if it continues
It’s a grift. The athletes that took part where mostly at the end of their careers and wanted a paycheck before retirement. The company behind it now uses the brand to sell medication. I’d be pretty surprised if they’re still around in two years, let alone in ten.
Being the enhanced games, you would think like with the swimming event, that did break a WR with those swimsuits, allow mechanical doping. Like shoes do make a difference, so allow restrictions based on shoes, push that envelope. Unfortunately I know this Enhanced Games is a shill for supplements and not another company’s shoes.
Cycling is another area, I will put the biggest motors and batteries and beat all the cycling records
Exactly. If you put no rules on equipment you might as well just launch yourself out of a cannon across the finish line. That will create anarchy.
Chaos =/= anarchy
Okay. I didn’t mean chaos, I meant anarchy. But it would also create chaos, probably.
I fail to see how a sporting event, no matter how conducted, could bring about a community run by volunteer cooperation, but perhaps that’s a failure of imagination on my part.
I think you’re going by a single definition of anarchy that you’re applying incorrectly in this case. You’ve tried to be a Besserwisser here, I’m guessing?
No, I’m trying to dispel the propaganda that anarchism results in chaos and disorder, “definitions” that were tacked on to discredit the movement.
At some point you just gotta show up with some Heelys
