    I once gave a wizard a name

to me the request was quite plain

    Instead of a friend

    I got Beethoven

When all I wanted was a dog

      I made a request I thought sound

Of an elderly wizard I found

      Beethoven I sought

      Yet a German I got

When I really just wanted the hound

        I did better & I do worse

To some, the sun is a curse

        For all whom are wanting

        And those who are haunting

I once was once Irish first!

There’s a 1992 movie called Beethoven, where Beethoven is the dog’s name. (The main character)

This could take time to explain

To some this might seem lame

      But I feel incised

      To your simple eyes

And Bethoven is not just a name

i went back to watch this one with my young child, and somewhere early on the main old white guy screams loudly that (if something good at work didn’t happen soon) he’s going to “… KILL MYSELF…” loudly, with enunciation, at the dinner table with his kids and shit.

and i was like oh my fucking god that’s where i first heard that phrase

which had set me on a course of using that phrase a few times throughout my young life. I was always very surprised by the reaction that received.

anyways I’m doing great! great great great!
