yumyum, usually that’s my top pick, although I ate a lot of pickled veg onigiri this trip.
Mentaiko is a superior upgrade for tarako in all cases and at all times
for marinade and spices, mentaiko is the way to go.

What, no umeboshi?
There were definitely a ton of plum onigiri, but it’s a little too sweet for me.
umeboshi is your preference?
It’s a classic, so not seeing it in the running is like not seeing vanilla or chocolate in a selection of ice cream flavors.
Fair enough, it is everywhere. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if umeboshi is that fifth onigiri standing up near the bottom of the screen.

yea i like all the vegetable ones, because I think they put more filling inside.
Salmon!!! Ooo jealous!
I always ate salmon onigiri my first backpacking trip through Japan, it is satisfying.
