Its not even his comedic acting background.

Zelenskyy has charisma. Contrast that with a senile lunatic who almost definitely had shit his pants by this point in the interview and…

I reckon there’s correlation there, but causation is inverse of what the the parent comment suggested:

He was a pretty good (from what I’ve seen) comedian because he was charismatic, not charismatic because he was a comedian

Of course I personally still can’t get over the penis piano playing lmao. I wish more countries had the balls to vote for someone like that.

Senile lunatic once was middle-aged fresh president and he also used to be sharp. It is just he’s senile today, and probably can be considered sharp for his age.

The only difference is that he outright lies off the screen to his people while Zelensky does not.

I imagine he had to unlearn the Biden years when he was dealing with actual world leaders. He clearly went in that mode to the first Trump meetings which didn’t quite work.

Right, I get all that, but I don’t think he was joking about this. I don’t think he or his fellow countrymen are joking about these things. I wouldn’t anyway.

Nah he would definitely joke about it, as would many of his countrymen, although obviously not all.

Gallows humour is a coping mechanism for difficult situations for a lot of people, while others of course can’t stand it at all.

Personally, if I happened to be in the actual gallows, I’d be making stupid ass jokes that make everyone else wish they’d die sooner

⅔ of eligible US voters chose their current federal representation.

      ⅓ actively. ⅓ passively.

It was an indisputable majority who chose this outcome. If the US wants to argue this is not who they are, then its citizenry needs to prove it.

using the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2024 Current Population Survey estimates, about 65.3% of the voting-age population voted and 73.6% were registered — which implies roughly 88.7% of registered voters cast a ballot in 2024 (65.3 ÷ 73.6 ≈ 0.887) [1]
