So I was laid off early this year since we finished the project I was working at, and ever since it’s been pretty rough, professionally and personally. Not even a single interview whatsoever, just emails offering “opportunities” or “collaborations” that you can tell they have sent in masse that are just plain scams or spam trying to catch some poor dummy.
However, last night I got an email with an “opportunity” where the sender claims to be supporting a confidential search for a high profile company and that my abilities, that they listed in this email, seem to be highly aligned with what they’re looking for. The sender attached a virtual contact card at poplme.co but there are not further details about the person.
The thing is that this email arrived at the spam folder and the phrasing seems to be a bit ai-y. But maybe they used ai as an aid for redaction and there are no links to follow or anything. I won’t be able to tell why this jumped to the spam folder - the redaction, despite the ai smell, does seem to be tailored towards a specific person - this old fart. The way they listed my abilities in the email does not seem to be machine-made, they aren’t listed in the same order they are in the cv nor use the same words.
I sought the wise opinion of this council, if I may, to be able to tell if this is legit or if it might be some sort of scam or spam. What they are offering might bring me out of poverty, literally.
Edit: Thank you all for your answers, I feel dumb for not checking that vcard website from the time being as @slothrop@lemmy.ca did in their infinite wisdom. The council has been pretty clear and I will not reply to this email. Cheers

Looks like a scam to me
