WASHINGTON (AP) — There will be no turning back the clock if the House has its way.
The House passed a bill Tuesday that would make daylight saving time permanent. Proponents, including the White House, argued the change would provide more daylight during the times that Americans are most active. The vote was 308-117.

It would be better if we just stayed on standard time unless you like it being dark until 9 or 10 in the morning in the winter
I agree, we should stick to the time where 12pm aligns with solar noon. But I’d rather stay on one time, even if it’s wrong, if it means no more switching back and forth.
They tried this before and people made them switch back because of morning darkness in the winter.
Getting up for work or school at 6am when there’s another three hours of darkness is gonna suck.

It’s strange that isn’t mentioned in the article.
I prefer that to the sun going down at 4:30. It’s always annoyed me that just when it’s really noticeable that the sun is going down much earlier, around 5:30-6:00, we change the clocks to make it even worse.
