I can and will leave whenever I feel like it.
My bro in-law is one of my favourite people, he’ll turn up to birthdays, general celebration’s and get togethers and just vanish at some point and we’re all just like “yup, he’s done now!” It’s just nice to see him!
This is me. When I’m done it’s the Irish goodbye for me.

meaning you live in a part, where you can walk within a day to your neighbors. that’s not given everywhere.
here we have sufficiently constant public transport and if that’s not working there are always taxis.

Of course. For not friends or family I usually wouldn’t even make the effort of going into a social setting where this becomes a problem.

You just don’t think your friends and family will understand, and don’t ask yourself why you would care if they didn’t care about your happiness.
