So the cure for asthma is to be angry at a shitty electric stove.

I never get this worship of gas stoves. Oh no it takes 4 seconds for the electric heat to get to the pan.
I don’t get it either. I’ve always used electric and it’s fine. The few times I’ve used gas I’ve never liked the weird flavor it imparts into food plus as an asthmatic I can literally feel the air around me get harder to breath in as I cook.
I’m not even asthmatic but I don’t understand how the gas doesn’t bother people. I at least have to have the overhead fan on.
I dislike them because the heat is not consistent. Burner comes on full power, gets hot, turns off. On and off over and over. Why? Why can’t it just use variable power delivery? Nope. Full blast or off.

I don’t understand why anyone would willingly choose such a crappy experience. There is no reason for them to work this way except that its cheaper to make.
You don’t even notice that. Like really. If you couldn’t see it, you’d have a hell of a hard time knowing it even happens. It’s quite literally a non factor.
Noticing or not noticing doesn’t change anything.
I was making caramel on a friends electric. It made a difference.
I don’t like electrics. I don’t know why people get so butthurt about it. I’m not saying nobody should ever have an electric stove (unlike a lot of people who say gas stoves should not be sold anymore). I don’t care what strangers do, none of my business. I just don’t want one.
Electic stoves also often have a higher heat output than typical gas stoves. It just takes a while to heat up the heating element itself. The glass top ones are so fast they need a second thermometer to prevent the glass from breaking.
Can never get the same BTU’s. I would love an induction but my castiron skillets that I mostly cook on will etch the ever living fuck out of the glass top
I have no idea but I’ve never felt the need “mmm need more power”. Also guess where those btus are going? The air. It’s noticeably cooler on electric because the heat is going into the pot, not the air around the pot.
Put the cast iron on the glass and don’t scrap it around. (Though I have heard of cheaper glass scratching easier.)
Induction stoves can typically deliver more power into the the item you’re trying to cook.

All you had to do was be slightly inconvenienced to cure asthma and you wouldn’t do it?

Induction is amazing. It works faster than gas and is easier to control.
Also it strongly affects the performance of the suction hood above. The gas combustion produces a huge extra volume which blows away particles and oil vapors away from the suction hood.
It significantly improves the air quality inside the kitchen.
Im not denying it, but as someone who had asthma growing up (father was a heavy smoker and I 100% believe I had it from that, he stopped a long time ago thankfully) I never felt like gas stoves had any impact on any of that and we lived in a pretty small house and no exhaust. I actually grew out of asthma by my mid teens but had a gas stove until i was like 30. Im not promoting gas, it was just my life and what happened to me and I really can’t come up with any negative impact that it had on me looking back.
One case means nothing
That is why the study shows a 70% drop in hospital admissions and not a 100% drop. There are always exceptions, which you obviously is an example of, but that doesn’t change the facts, which is that not having gas stoves shows an extraordinarily huge difference for the majority of patients studied.
