I didn’t shave, I’m in my pajamas, the lighting is dodgy, I’m unposed, I’m wearing my day job headset, and I can’t wear makeup.

What you see here is me at my most middling low-average, when I just can’t care cause most of the time no one will see me, except now you are seeing me.

The big takeaway is that this is what I look like when I’m not trying to be fancy, this is what I look like most of the time.

And I’m still beautiful, at least, to me.

And if ever you’re struggling with your own self-image and you want the outside to match the inside, you’re not alone in that. This is my raw, unprocessed outside.

      Thanks! The glasses help me with my facial recognition issues cause my brain is a bit cooked.

      The board games help me keep dementia away, and also I can’t seem to save money cause I’m always chasing games. 🐢

          Down there, in the lower right corner, occupying both cells immediately above the books, is Etherfields, my favorite board game of all time. It’s primarily a solo affair, and it plays like an avant-garde JRPG held together with dream logic. It doesn’t pull its punches, and has made me cry three separate times.

          I love it so very much.

          (Yes, there’s two copies of the core box, one for me, and one to lend out.)

            I have Voidfall and Arkham Horror with two expansions and I am ashamed to admit that I haven’t played either yet and Voidfall is still shrinkwrapped.

                I was afraid of that. I guess I’ll need to find a game sherpa and/or group…which is a tall order. I have another game, Feudum, that I also have never set up simply because I feel like I need a committed group just to figure it out.

                  Never play Voidfall with other people, unless they already know how.

                  I sat down with a rulebook and a few hours and I just ground through it my first time, and my second time was smoother but there were a lot of lookups. Usually I end up going for games I can contain comfortably in my own head though.

    (As an aside, I spend two hours on Brooke’s photo, doing careful color grading and pushing the saturation up on her hair and jacket, going back and forth between sigmoid settings, tweaking the tone exposure curve, and endlessly just messing with things until I’m satisfied;

    and then I take my own selfie in three seconds without my phone and with the only preparation being to take off my hat. I got priorities.)

    Ive genuinely thought about doing a post like this. Its great to post selfies all made up and how we want to present ourselves to the world, but i do feel it gives a misrepresentation of our day to day looks. Great example is the photo you took a bunch of time editing of me, i hadnt shaved in 2 days and had no makeup on. 😅

    Just goes to show we dont wake up like this, it actually takes alot of hard work!

    You so pretty with or without the effort and im sooo looking forward to looking that fem with so little effort. I can still pass male if i just dont keep up on stuff 🙃

    Also, you have to let me do your makeup sometime! If your comfy with that. Maybe on a date night with your partner or something lol ❤️🐢
