A lot of the things he described sounds like madness. I would like to think that things were not so bad in most places, in terms of performative dei and “weird bullshit”. Unfortunately, the structural issues with a shift from tenured faculty to adjunct teaching, and away from academic freedom, are probably more universal. And I think the reason the misplaced racial justice theater irked him so much was primarily its contrast with the complete disregard of ideals and progressive values when it comes to the workforce and college administration in general.
