It’s very hard to overstate how much power this asshole’s wealth gives him. People joke about it all the time, but he is effectively above the law. For some reason, people equate his wealth with intelligence, so they listen to him. When the disagree with anything he says, that wealth/intelligence pops up and they assume he knows something they don’t.

Then the US staffed the first generation of NATO with Nazi officers, and together they organized Nazis and Nazi collaborators all over Europe in a covert operation to arm, fund, train, and prepare them for a resurgence. In West Germany, former Nazi politicians were openly elected and appointed into government positions, and it was so egregious that some Germans and Scandinavians turned to terrorism in protest. The USSR had to build a wall completely around West Berlin because it was a small little polity in the middle of East Germany that was literally electing Nazis to power.
